Product Description:
Following the example of the Prince de Condé in Chantilly, Marie-Antoinette wants to have her own little village to enjoy the pleasures of the countryside with her children. Her aspiration for a rural paradise is somewhat a result of the Enlightenment. The Queen had her Hameau built in Versailles in 1783, going against the traditions of the old Royal Court.
With its unique fragrance with scents that are simultaneously green, fresh and floral, HAMEAU DE LA REINE will take you to the heart of the Queen’s Hameau to live again these great moments of emotion.

Creation of the Perfumer Bertrand DUCHAUFOUR

Perfume family: floral, green

Top notes: bergamot, blackcurrant bud, tomato leaf, fig leaf
Heart notes: rose, galbanum, peony, geranium, mock orange, ivy
Base notes: vetiver, patchouli, white wood, musk, honey

Hameau de la Reine was a surprise for me. Though it was noted as having a green, fresh scent, I was unprepared for the pure grass and sunshine that spilled out of the bottle when I opened it.

The start of this scent IS sharp - but as with all scents, you must wait for the true scent to emerge. The payoff with this scent was worth the wait.

The sharp and bright green from the top morphs into a delicious summer garden scent, full of fresh greenery, spring skies and ivy - all delicately threaded with a ribbon of rose and orange.

It is a delightful scent that is worth waiting for the middle and base notes to emerge! I open this bottle, close my eyes, and I can almost smell the hazy summer days of my youth. Thank you. It's beautiful.
